In Newton's Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica, Newton tackled the principles of space and time as absolutes. He argued that absolute time exists and flows with no regard to external components, and termed this "duration." In accordance with Newton, absolute time can only be understood mathematically, since it is imperceptible. Relative t
